ObtainingPlanks, stone, iron, redstone
Primary roleBlock movement
RedstoneActivates when powered
How to obtain
A piston is crafted from planks, cobblestone, an iron ingot, and redstone dust. Adding a slimeball creates the sticky version.
How it works
When powered, it pushes up to twelve movable blocks. A normal piston does not pull blocks back, and some blocks cannot move at all.
Where to use it
Pistons power doors, crop harvesters, elevators, movable walls, and flying machines. Quasi-connectivity differs between Java and Bedrock.
Practical tips
Test the mechanism in the target edition first. Slime and honey blocks move groups but follow their own attachment restrictions.
