The modern recipe uses three leather and one iron ingot. Saddles still appear in loot and trading, but progression no longer depends entirely on random chests.
Primary use
A saddle equips horses, pigs, striders, and other rideable mobs under their own control rules. The required steering item depends on the mount.
Important mechanics
Modern versions allow a saddle to be removed with shears when the mob is not being ridden and supports removal. Saddles have no durability value.
Practical tips
Craft a saddle before searching for a horse and bring a lead for safe transport. For lava travel, prepare a warped fungus on a stick in advance.
