Where to find
Each ocean monument generates three elder guardians: one near the top and one in each wing. They do not respawn after being killed.
Behavior and danger
Its beam and spikes resemble a normal guardian's, but it has far more health. Periodic Mining Fatigue makes block breaking extremely slow even with a strong pickaxe.
Drops and uses
A guaranteed wet sponge helps drain the monument, alongside prismarine and fish drops. Defeating all three removes the main obstacle to renovating the structure.
Strategy and edition notes
Bring milk to clear Mining Fatigue, remembering that it also removes useful buffs. Defeat the elders first, then drink and begin mining; this order matters in both editions.
