How to obtain
Upgrade a diamond sword at a smithing table with a netherite upgrade template and netherite ingot. It cannot be crafted directly from ingots.
Primary use
The sword handles general combat, Java sweeping attacks, and fast cobweb breaking. Netherite improves damage and service life over diamond.
Important mechanics
Sharpness, Smite, and Bane of Arthropods are mutually exclusive. Looting improves mob drops, while Fire Aspect ignites targets and can cook meat drops.
Practical tips
For a general sword, combine Sharpness V, Looting III, Sweeping Edge, Unbreaking III, and Mending. Plan book order to avoid an overly expensive anvil operation.
