How to obtain
The item cannot be crafted. It is found in dangerous structure chests, including ancient cities, bastions, dungeons, and mineshafts, with loot chances varying by structure.
Primary use
The apple grants strong absorption and regeneration together with resistance and fire resistance. It is an emergency item for bosses, lava, and burst damage.
Important mechanics
Effects begin immediately after eating and can override lower-level effects. Because the item is nonrenewable through normal farming, every use has a real opportunity cost.
Practical tips
Place one on the hotbar before fighting the Wither or Warden. Do not consume it only for hunger; a regular golden apple is far cheaper.
