Best Bow Enchantments
A complete bow setup and the choice between Mending and Infinity.

A complete bow setup and the choice between Mending and Infinity.
Combat core
Power V is essential; Flame adds burning and Punch II controls distance.
Infinity
Saves normal arrows when at least one is carried; special arrows are still consumed.
Mending
Suits valuable bows and avoids dependence on repeated anvil repairs.
Recommendation
Infinity favors normal-arrow expeditions; Mending favors special arrows and sustainable long-term use.
Choose the repair strategy before combining
Mending and Infinity conflict in normal Java and Bedrock Survival. Both builds benefit from Unbreaking III: Infinity does not prevent wear, while Mending requires XP. If you mainly use tipped arrows, Infinity does not save them. Make this decision before combining expensive books; using a grindstone to change one conflicting enchantment removes the other ordinary enchantments too.
Ready builds and anvil costs

Frequently asked questions
How many levels does this build need?
Each build lists its total and most expensive step. Prices assume separate fresh books at the required levels and an item with no prior work in Java. Set the penalty separately for an item with history; material repair costs are not included.
Should all books be combined first?
Not always: transferring the right-hand book's enchantments costs levels at every step. The cheapest order depends on contents and input penalties. Open the specific build's plan for the left and right input of each operation.
