Where to find it
Shelf mushrooms appear on standing and fallen poplars in Dappled Forests. Wandering traders may also sell them, but exploring the biome usually provides both mushrooms and the matching wood set.
Growth and harvesting
The block has small and large stages. Bone meal enlarges a small mushroom, and breaking the large stage yields two items, making growth before harvest worthwhile when bone meal is available.
Food use
Shelf mushroom counts as a mushroom ingredient for mushroom and suspicious stew. Updated recipes accept two suitable mushrooms, while the flower still determines a suspicious stew's status effect.
Bouncy surface
Living entities bounce slightly on a large mushroom, similarly to a bed, with a dedicated sound. The effect is modest but useful for forest paths, parkour details, and decorative platforms.
