Where to find
Axolotls spawn in lush-cave water above clay blocks. They can be collected in water buckets and bred using buckets of tropical fish.
Behavior and danger
They attack drowned, guardians, and other aquatic mobs. After heavy damage, an axolotl may play dead, regenerate, and be ignored temporarily.
Drops and uses
Killing one provides no useful loot. Assisting an axolotl in combat can grant Regeneration and remove Mining Fatigue when the conditions are met.
Strategy and edition notes
Transport one only in a water bucket and do not leave it on land. Bring several to a monument but protect them from beams; core mechanics are similar in both editions.
