What the build contains
Pre-Release 2 contains the full 26.3 cycle: the Dappled Forest, three autumn-colored poplar canopies, abandoned camps, shelf mushrooms, red shrubs, and wool stairs and slabs. The feature set is close to final but remains a test release.
Pre-Release 2 changes
This particular build focuses on fixes. The data-pack version moved to 120.0, and the windswept-forest abandoned-camp tag received a clearer name. It also fixes particle, fog, fullscreen, and structure-generation issues.
Should you update a main world
A pre-release is more settled than an ordinary snapshot, but it is not the final release. Make a separate world backup and avoid opening the only copy of an important save because data or generation can still change before Java 26.3.
How to install
In the official launcher, open Java Edition installations, enable snapshots, and create a separate 26.3-pre-2 profile. Client and server must use the same version, while mods and resource packs need separate compatibility checks.
